Uppark HouseThe interior of Uppark House was destroyed by fire in 1989. The furniture and artwork was saved
but most of the plasterwork, wallpapers and other decoration you see today is a paintaking recreation. Luckily
all was covered by insurance.
There are some fine paintings and furniture in the main rooms yet the servants' quarters are just as interesting. The house isn't huge and takes about an hour to see so try and visit when the weather permits appreciation of the garden, woodland walk and even the picnic area. H.G.Wells' mother was once the Housekeeper here. |map| |next attraction|
