Sally Lunn'sSally Lunn arrived in Bath from France 300 years ago and started baking rather nice bread.
It was very light and tasty and caught on. Today Sally Lunn's cafe still serves original,
secret recipe buns - and all this in Bath's oldest house.
Sally Lunn's is always busy - in the tourist season you'll probably have to queue to get in.
While in Sally Lunn's, pop down to the cellar. There's a mock up of how the original bakery would have looked, some impressive stalactites and an excavation showing medieval walls which held up earlier buildings on the site. Sally Lunn's is, like the nearby Roman Baths and Bath Abbey, one of the things you have to see when visiting Bath. |map| |next attraction| |
