Nymans House & GardensMost of the house burned down in 1947 and post-war shortages of building materials meant it never got rebuilt.
Half a dozen rooms remain in tact - enough for comfortable living and worth seeing.
Most visitors will be attracted by the gardens. If you live in London, Nymans will seem a haven of country peace. But country dwellers may find some of the garden's proximity to a busy road inhibits tranquility and may prefer Wakehurst Place. |map| |next attraction|
