Mottisfont AbbeyMottisfont Abbey is not large as country houses and gardens go but it is well worth a visit. The Old Dining room has
an odd optical illusion: one of the walls looks curved but is in fact dead straight.
The Whistler Room is a minor gem - you won't see anything quite like it anywhere else.
There's a nice walk along the river and plenty of picnic places. The walled gardens house the National Collection of old-fashioned roses - best seen in June. Mottisfont Abbey is a thoroughly nice place. |map| |next attraction|
