Mary Rose MuseumYou can't see the Mary Rose herself again until 2011 - they're rebuilding the visitor centre around her - but
the museum remains open. It contains artefacts from the Mary Rose as well as telling the story of her sinking in 1545 and
raising in 1982.
It's amazing what survived for 400 years in the silt of the Solent: wooden plates, canon, longbows, clothes, surgical instruments (not for the squeamish). The contents of the ship provide an insight into the lives of ordinary people in Tudor times. There's also a film that tells the story of the ship. |map| |next attraction|
