Mary Rose Museum

You can't see the Mary Rose herself again until 2011 - they're rebuilding the visitor centre around her - but the museum remains open. It contains artefacts from the Mary Rose as well as telling the story of her sinking in 1545 and raising in 1982. |more days out|

Mary Rose Museum

It's amazing what survived for 400 years in the silt of the Solent: wooden plates, canon, longbows, clothes, surgical instruments (not for the squeamish). The contents of the ship provide an insight into the lives of ordinary people in Tudor times. There's also a film that tells the story of the ship. |map| |next attraction|
