Carmarthen MuseumCarmarthen Museum is worth a visit. Located in Abergwili, a mile or so east of Carmarthen,
it tells the story of Carmarthen and the surrounding area from pre-historic times through
the Roman occupation and their establishment of Moridunum.
The ebb and flow of English and Welsh dominance over the area up to the present day is illustrated with displays and exhibits. Upstairs there's a chapel with a fine barrelled ceiling dating from when the building was the the Bishop of St David's palace. The museum is a lot better than the rather drab exterior might suggest. |map| |next attraction|
