Bodmin Jail
The surviving parts of the jail are just as they were in the 19th century.
The waxwork figures and vivid tales of villains, crime and punishment give the place an eerie feel -
particularly when you descend to the lower levels.
The nearby Courtroom Experience is good too.
Exhibits tell of infamous murderers like Crippen (but was he innocent after all?) and others extoll the merits of capital punishmnet for today's murderers. Really. This is one tourist attraction definitely not run by some namby-pamby, leftie local authority! |map| |nearby attraction|
